Overview
The network management software combines tools and utilities specifically designed
for the Synchrony Cell Exchange product family with core applications offered by
Hewlett-Packard OpenView, ObjectStore object-oriented database, and other
network management functionality common across TimePlex product families.
SNMS+ uses industry-standard technology for its platform, command protocol
(SNMP), and object-oriented database to manage the various types of equipment
that make up your network.
SNMS+ operates as an application under the Hewlett-Packard OpenView
management platform. The OpenView platform provides common ground so that the
network management software can coexist with other management applications.
SNMS+ uses the ObjectStore object-oriented database to maintain a hierarchy of
managed objects representing elements in the network, their attributes and
behaviors.

software release 4.0 or later.
Hardware Platform
The SNMS+ application runs on a Sun workstation with a minimum requirement of
72 MB of RAM, 216 MB of swap space, and a minimum of 2.1 GB of disk space.
Larger networks may cause these requirements to increase.
Use any of the following Sun workstations with Solaris 2.6 as a qualified operating
system:
- Sun Ultra 1 (167 MHz minimum processor speed), Ultra 2, Ultra 5, and Ultra 10
